Mark Zuckerberg Now Cares Less If Facebook Is Liked Or Not

2 Min Read

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO has said his company, in 2020, will care less about people’s opinion and sentiment when making certain decisions regarding Facebook Inc.

Zuckerberg has always considered people’s opinion and has always worked consciously towards people liking Facebook Inc, according to reports, but now he doesn’t care anymore.

According to Vanguard report on Friday, Zuckerberg has said that in 2020, the public should anticipate some firm and controversial decisions on issues facing his company. “He is making the change after being told that for the last decade, Facebook didn’t communicate its plans clearly because its management was too worried about offending people,” Vanguard wrote.

Zuckerberg who spoke on Wednesday regarding earnings said;

“This led to some positive but shallow sentiment towards us, and then towards the company,”

“And my goal for this next decade isn’t to be liked but to be understood. Because in order to be trusted, people need to know what you stand for.”

Meanwhile, Zuckerberg’s networth has dropped by $5 billion according to Forbes. In its publication on Thursday, Forbes said that the “company reported revenue rose 25% to $21.1 billion, beating Refinitiv forecasts of $20.9 billion. Net income increased 7% to $7.3 billion, or $2.56 a share, topping forecasts for $2.53.”

“Expenses rose 34% year-over-year to $12 billion as its headcount swelled to nearly 45,000. The disappointment sent shares skidding, shaving off more than $5 billion of Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth, which Forbes estimates is now worth $77.8 billion.”
