The Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe has described his country as the most developed country in Africa despite the crumbling economic condition in the country.
The Zimbabwean president whose country has been ranked among the world’s worst-performing countries was described by the nation’s president as ‘the most highly developed country in Africa.’
Robert Mugabe made this known during the World Economic Forum on Africa which held on Thursday in Durban, South Africa.
Robert Mugabe when asked to make his comments regarding the global belief that Zimbabwe is a failed nation said: “That is not true!”
He added: “Zimbabwe is the most highly developed country in Africa. After South Africa, I want to see another country as highly developed.”
He continued: “We have a bumper harvest, not only maize but also tobacco and many other crops. We are not a poor country. If anyone wants to call us fragile, they can. You can also call America fragile.”
