It seems as though Zayn Malik, once one fifth of One Direction, is attempting to get his solo career off the ground, after saying bye to the ultra successful British boy band in late March 2015.
The 22-year-old singer has signed a solo deal with RCA Records, a recording label associated with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears.
Malik, who tweeted recently about his departure and his new musical endeavors, said that the real reason for his exit from the boy band was to show everyone his “real” self. He insinuated that he’ll be dishing out “real” music.
We can’t wait to hear what Malik’s “#realmusic” sounds like.
While his former band mates have yet to express any public opinions about the start of his solo career via social media, former boss and mastermind behind 1D, Simon Cowell, tweeted a “congratulations” to the singer.
