President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken up about the recent mob killing in Zamfara state, stating that justice will be meted out to the perpetrators.
Eight people were burnt alive by a mob at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara on Monday.
The victims were burnt to death in house occupied by a male student alleged to have committed blasphemy against Prophet Muhammed.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Buhari noted that ethnic violence and religious killings would not be tolerated under his watch.
He said: “I received news of the mob killings in Zamfara with great dismay. It is barbaric and unacceptable. I assure that the law will take its course. My prayers are with the families of the victims.
“Under my watch, we will work to ensure that there is no place for violence in the name of religion, ethnicity, or in any guise whatsoever.”
