A state high court in Zamfara has stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the APC from disqualifying candidates in the state.
According to Justice Mukhtar Yushau, who gave the order, the Electoral Commission is to maintain status quo
Three members of the ruling party, Sanusi Dan-Alhahi, Babangida Abdullahi, Chairman APC Gusau Local government area and Kabiru Chafe, Chairman APC Tsafe local government area brought the suit before the courts as they were aggrieved by the activities of the party in trying to control the elections in Zamfara.

The suit itself challenged INEC and APC’s power to to disqualify the candidates from contesting for office in the state.
Ordering the interim injunction, Justice Yushau compelled the APC, the party’s north-west zonal chairman and INEC to maintain the status quo
The matter was adjourned till October 23rd
