The Zamfara-based presidential candidate of the Nigeria Element Progressive Party (NEPP), Mr. Paul Ofemile, has lost his constituency in last Saturday’s presidential election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ofemile, a Sokoto-born Igbo man earlier complained against the selection of presidential and vice presidential candidates debate that left his party out.
He told newsmen in Gusau ahead of the presidential election that organisers of the debate had deliberately excluded his party because he had no money.
When NAN contacted him for his comments on the outcome of the presidential election, Ofemile said, “l am happy that l have up to 16 people who like me in Zamfara”.
He said, ” although we did not have a governorship candidate in Zamfara, my party Chairman, Ibrahim Katsina, was supposed to be at INEC to sign the documents. ”
“l am driving on my way to Gusau from Abuja and when I arrive, we can talk more,” he said.
NAN reports that Ofemile garnered 16 votes from across the 14 local government areas of the state at the presidential and national assembly elections announced by the Returning Officer of the state, Prof. Kabiru Bala on Tuesday. (NAN)
