The management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Wednesday promised to repair the damaged transformer at Muri-Ojora in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State before Christmas.
Mr Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications Unit of EKEDC, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Idemudia said that power outage being experienced in the area in the last three months was due to the fault from the transformer.
He said that complaint had reached the company from the Apapa Business Unit in respect of the faulty transformer.
Idemudia said engineers from the company had inspected the transformer and submitted their findings, adding that the company had commenced repair work on the said transformer.
The general manager said that electricity consumers in the area would soon begin to enjoy uninterrupted power supply.
He urged them not to take advantage of the outage to vandalise the EKEDC equipment in their area.
Idemudia also appealed to residents to always be vigilant and monitor all EKEDC installations in their areas. (NAN)
