The 81 Division General Officer Commanding (GOC), Nigerian Army, Lagos has urged Nigerians to pray more for the soldiers fighting in the North East during this yuletide season.

The GOC, Maj.-Gen. Babatunde Oyefolu, made this known at the Christmas Carol night of nine lessons organised by the division on Friday night in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

“As we celebrate this year’s Christmas, I urge you to remember and pray for all our comrades who are in the Northeast participating in the counter terrorism.

” Also pray for our comrades participating in counter insurgency operation and many other internal security operation around the country.

“We should also be prepared to be security conscious during this yuletide season because a lot of atrocities would be committed at this time,” he said.

The Deputy Director, 81 Division Chaplain Services, Lt. -Col. Guwon Mairiga, while delivering his Christmas message urged Nigerians to pray to God for the disappearance of the insurgency and other criminal elements in the country.

“Let us pray to God to allow peace, joy and happiness to reign in our lives and our nation.

“At the end of the tunnel, there is light. I pray the light will visit our nation, ” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that one of the nine lessons at the Carol night was read by the wife of the GOC, Mrs Omotola Oyefolu and other senior officers. (NAN)
