Nollywood veteran, Yul Edochie, has drawn attention to the pervasive issue of cyberbullying within the entertainment industry and among Nigerians online, emphasizing that the same type of bullying that the late singer, Mohbad, faced is a reality he experiences from industry colleagues and online communities.
Yul conveyed these sentiments through a candid Instagram post on a Sunday, laying bare his encounters with cyberbullying. He stressed that the individuals now clamoring for justice for Mohbad were the very ones who subjected him to a year-long barrage of harassment and insults due to his decision to marry another woman.
In a poignant call-out to his industry peers, Yul Edochie highlighted the lack of support and defense he received from fellow colleagues during this challenging period of relentless bullying.
The actor expressed his frustration, pointing out the hypocrisy in the clamor for justice for Mohbad after his demise while the same people had remained silent during his ordeal.
He condemned the trend of exploiting Mohbad’s tragic situation to boost online visibility, branding those engaging in such behavior as ‘demons’ and ‘wicked people.’ Yul passionately revealed the toll cyberbullying had taken on him, emphasizing the need for a collective effort to combat the culture of online harassment.
