Nigeria fell 2-1 to Argentina yesterday and naturally tensions have been running high.
Especially in an age of Social media where people can speak their opinions in a rather quick manner, we have seen more and more primal reactions to the defeat or to criticism in general.
This was the case after Super Eagle’s Defender, Kenneth Omeruo’s wife, called out Super Eagles legend, Austin Jay Jay Okocha when the latter expressed disappointment at the defender after Messi’s first goal.
Speaking as an analyst in the Super Sports studio, Okocha said he believed Omeruo should have done better for Messi’s goal, saying; “I am a bit disappointed with Omeruo, he would have seen the run of Messi and maybe take a step or two to be able to cut that ball off.”
Chioma Nnamani, Omeruo’s wife was unimpressed with this taking to Social media to call the African Cup of Nations winner a Mad Man for his criticism of her husband.
She said; “What magic do you want him to do? You mad man”
A follower tried to caution her and stated that she is to respect elders and not call them names to which Chioma countered that respect is reciprocal and that calling her husband out as being the one at fault without getting his facts right made him a ripe target. She also stated that being in those shoes before, she expected better from him.
