The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Sen. Dino Melaye, has paid tribute to Senate President Bukola Saraki, who lost his re-election bid in Saturday’s National Assembly election.
Saraki lost to Dr Yahaya Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oloriegbe polled a total of 123, 808 votes to defeat the Senate President who scored 68, 994 votes in the four local governments of Kwara Central Senatorial District.
Since his loss, Saraki has received different messages from Nigerians, with most of them a show of support.
Melaye, who retained his seat, took to his Twitter handle to celebrate his friend.
He said, “Sen Bukola Saraki the indefatigable defender of our democracy. True Patriot and promoter of our national Heritage. Every orchestration, gang up, manipulation and deliberate wickedness against you is temporal and evaporative. You remain my boss, brother and friend. I love you.”
