Nigerian actor Uzor Arukwe recently spoke with Topcharts Magazine about the importance of embracing criticism and feedback in the acting profession.

“I love criticism and feedback because it helps you to become a better actor,” Arukwe stated. “You can’t be an actor if you’re not open to criticism.”

He went on to highlight the crucial role that constructive criticism plays in an actor’s development. Arukwe acknowledged that actors don’t necessarily need to love criticism, but they must learn to accept and analyze it effectively.

This philosophy extends beyond simply delivering lines perfectly. Arukwe suggests that great acting involves the ability to actively listen to feedback and adapt one’s performance accordingly. He also emphasizes the importance of mastering stillness and emotional control on screen.
