“You are proof that old age and grey hairs don’t guarantee sense” – Omojuwa fires Fayose’s media aide

Social media guru, Japheth Omojuwa has lambasted Lere Olayinka, media aide to ex-Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, over a comment on the nation’s security situation.

Omojuwa had tweeted a comment condemning alleged deteriorating security situation in the country and called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to review the National Security strategy.

He tweeted: “What is Nigeria’s overall strategy on National Security? At what point will President Buhari wake up to the fact that the current security set up is broken? We know they won’t abduct the president but is it until ministers and senators start getting abducted?”

Replying, Olayinka, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said Omojuwa was an ardent supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and helped return the president for a second term and so should not complain when things go awry,

He tweeted, “And those who brought the Next Level are now complaining even when we are still under Change.

“Omojuwa and co should just relax, what we are seeing is Mariwo, Ologbojo Masquerade is still doing rehearsal.”

However, Omojuwa slammed Olayinka’s criticism, saying that every citizen reserved the right to criticise an erring government.

He wrote, “Johnbull Lere Olayinka, you are proof that old age and grey hairs don’t guarantee sense & wisdom.

“Citizens must always ask better of their government, whether or not they once voted them.

“Jonathan’s been gone for 4 years, you are about 50 years old, time to move on with your life.”
