SuperSport, Africa’s leading pay tv channel says it will broadcast live, the Joseph Yobo Testimonial and Centenary match on two of its premium channels.

It will broadcast across the continent in full HD on SuperSport 9 and SuperSport 3.

A statement released by Colin Udoh, a member of the Testimonial Organising Committee on Tuesday in Lagos said the game would mark Yobo’s retirement from international football.

The statement noted that it was record-setting 100th appearance for the former skipper of the National team, who was indeed the first Nigerian to attain such a mark.

“At SuperSport, we take pride in our unwavering support of African talent and there are few talents more deserving of recognition than Joseph Yobo,’’ the statement quotes Felix Awogu, General Manager of Supersport as saying.

“We are proud to be part of this celebration of one of the greatest players this country has ever produced.

Among players expected to participate are Chelsea captain, John Terry, African football legend, Samuel Etoo Fils and two national legends, Austin Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu.

Former Eagles’ captain, Vincent Enyeama would also return to the pitch in Port Harcourt, along with Julius Aghahowa, Yakubu Ayegbeni, Chidi Odiah and Danny Shittu.

The Kickoff is at 4pm, local time at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt. (NAN)
