In a recent with online personality Temisan, Nigerian music sensation Yemi Alade shocked fans by disclosing the unexpected origin of her chart-topping single, ‘Johnny.’
Contrary to the typical narrative of a planned release, Yemi Alade shared that ‘Johnny’ was not intentionally launched but rather leaked online. The talented singer, who recently graced the AFCON opening ceremony in Cote d’Ivoire, expressed her surprise at the song’s massive success, considering it wasn’t part of her initial release plans.
During the interview, Yemi Alade elaborated, saying, “I never thought. It was a song that was leaked. I did not even release it officially.” She went on to describe the leaked image associated with the song, featuring her with a blonde weave holding a white puppy, emphasizing that the song found its way into the public domain before any official release.
Reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, Yemi Alade admitted, “It was leaked. If you find the picture, it’s a picture of me. The profile picture is me with some blonde weave holding one white little puppy. It leaked online. It was never officially released. Yes. It probably would never have been released if God found a way to move people and things around and the song.“
