The senator for Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, has regained freedom from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
It was learnt that, Yari, who is a former Zamfara governor, had been detained and interrogated by the secret police after he visited their office on Thursday.
However, reports reaching The Herald confirmed that the serving senator was freed around 11 pm on Saturday.
Recall that Yari lost his Senate Presidency bid to Senator Godswill Akpabio in June.
He alleged that he lost due to betrayal from many of his colleagues that had earlier pledged their loyalty to his ambition.
The reason for the senator’s detention and interrogation by the secret police remain unclear as of press time.
