Yakasai: Sacked Ganduje’s aide in our custody – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) says Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former Special Adviser on Media to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, is in its custody.

Spokesman of the secret police, Dr. Peter Afunanya confirmed Yakasai’s arrest late Saturday.

Ganduje sacked Yakasai earlier in the day for making “unguarded utterances” against the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.

The former aide on Friday criticised the government for failing to secure the lives and property of Nigerians.

This was after 317 schools were abducted from the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State.

“Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign,” the father of three tweeted.

Confirming the arrest, Afunanya said, “This is to confirm that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai is with the Department of State Services. He is being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media as wrongly alleged by sections of the public.”
