Lizzie Velasquez was named the world’s ugliest woman at 17, when she posted a video on YouTube and it went viral.
She was diagnosed with rare congenital disease among other symptoms that prevents fat accumulation.
The result of the test was given by Baylor college of medicine, and it was stated that she could not accumulate fat. She is blind in her right eye and has vision impaired in the left eye.

Doctors told her parents she would never speak or walk but she defied all odds by doing everything professionally at age 27.
Lizzie grew up to become a motivational speaker and a self -proferred pacer.

According to Lizzie, “there were many times where I was frustrated and angry. I didn’t know whom to blame or who to get angry at. I made every birthday wish, I put every candle at church and did every prayer before God. I said, “God please make me normal”, Velasquez told the crowd during one of her programs.
She has written two books, ‘Be beautiful, be you’ and ‘choosing happiness’. The books are directed towards teenagers.
Velasquez said her parents treated her like everyone else but the world did not.she was taken for outings and walks but most times people stopped what they were doing to stare at her.
She became bold and had to stand up to fight back. Despite the disorder Velasquez is a strong personality who keeps speaking to the world using herself as an example.
