Two Harry Kane headers either side of the half propelled a lacklustre England squad above Tunisia in the second Group G clash in the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia on Monday.
The Tottenham Hotspur pointman had put England ahead in the 11th minute of the encounter after Tunisia goalkeeper Mouez Hassen failed to properly clear a John Stones’s header.
Ferjani Sassi restored parity from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after Kyle Walker’s elbow smacked Tunisia’s Fakhreddine Ben Youssef in the face.
But despite continuing to pile the pressure, England were held off by the North Africans until the 90th-minute mark when Harry Maguire cleverly provided the ball to an unmarked Kane who coolly swung it into the net.
Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side had spanked Panama 3-0 zero in the opening Group G game earlier in the afternoon, with Romelu Lukaku grabbing a brace and Dries Mertens scoring the other.
