The United State’s border control officers have thwarted the efforts of a 24-year-old woman who attempted to smuggle cocaine worth $10,000 into the country at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The woman, identified as Shekira Thompson, was caught upon landing in New York from Jamaica.
The half-a-pound cocaine was found stashed away in her vagina.
When questioned, Shekira admitted to packing the illegal hard drug worth $10,000 in her vagina, and the claim was also validated by tests conducted on the substance which has since been confiscated.
The Director of field operations at the US Customs and Border Protection, Robert E. Perez, while commenting on the foiled attempt at smuggling the hard drug said, “This seizure is just another example of our CBP officers being vigilant in protecting the United States from the distribution of these illicit drugs.”
Ms Shekira Thompson is due to appear before the Queens County District Court on narcotics smuggling charges.
