A Twitter user, Emeka Ulor, has advised Nigerians to be security conscious to avoid becoming victims of armed robbery as the Christmas and New Year celebrations draw closer.
Ulor said this while narrating an experience he had at a commercial bank on Tuesday where a woman was robbed of the sum of N500 thousand fifteen minutes after collecting the money from the counter.
According to him, the woman was held at gunpoint by men who must have been following her as she exited the bank premises.
He said the victim returned to the bank “in a state of shock” and narrated what had happened to her.
In the series of tweets with hashtag #DecAlert in which he copied the Nigeria Police, he urged bank customers to opt for fund transfer instead of physically withdrawing cash, to guard against being robbed of their hard-earned money.
