Woman Kills Husband Over Insurance Policy

2 Min Read

A 44-year-old woman Uloma Walker-Curry has been charged to court in Ohio, USA over the killing of her husband, Cleveland fire fighter, William Walker.

She allegedly committed the crime so she could collect her husband’s life insurance policy and cover up financial fraud she committed in his name.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, Mrs. Walker-Curry committed the crime while acting in league with Chad Padgett, 21, Christopher Hein, 22, and Ryan Dorty, 23.

She initially told detectives in November 2013 when 45-year-old Mr. Walker was killed that neighbourhood drug dealers were responsible for her husband’s death, claiming they killed him because they were afraid he would complain about them.

However, prosecutors say a Crime Stoppers tip and cell phone technology, including text messages, gave her away as the mastermind of the crime, leading to her arrest last week.

Elaborating on the most likely scenario, prosecutors declared that Mrs Walker-Curry hired Chad Padgett, who was dating her daughter at the time, to kill her husband. Padgett involved his cousin, Hein, who hired his friend Dorty, who shot Mr. Walker.

Mr. Walker was shot and killed when the Padgett, Hein and Dorty laid an ambush on him in the driveway of his Cleveland, Ohio home.

She was charged with aggravated murder, conspiracy and felonious assault, and is being held on a $1 million bond.
