Two women, who allegedly incited disturbance, were on Wednesday docked before a Kado Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja.
The accused: Hindu Sadiq, 40, a house help and Safia Usman, 40, a business woman, both reside at Kado, Abuja, are facing a count charge of inciting disturbance.
The prosecutor, Judith Obatomi, told the court that the matter was reported by Hindu Sadiq at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja on Aug. 27.
Obatomi told the court that Sadiq reported at the police station on Aug. 25 accusing Usman of calling her children bastard.
“But, during police investigation, it was discovered that Sadiq also called Usman children bastard and exchanged words, which incite public disturbance,’’ she said.
According to her, the offence contravened Section 114 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, denied committing the offences.
The Judge, Alhaji Ahmed Ado, granted them bail of N20, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
Ado said that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction.
He then adjourned the case until Sept. 9 for hearing. (NAN)
