Woman Blocks Bank Entrance After Scammers Steal Her Money

An unidentified woman took matters into her hands when she barred entry and exit of customers at Ecobank after she claimed she was scammed by fraudsters.

The incident occurred at the Oba-Akran, Ikeja branch of the bank and the woman sat in front of the security door refusing anyone entry or exit from the bank.

In a video that was posted on Instagram by Instablog9ja, the woman sat bemoaning her fate and claiming that there wasn’t a single naira in her account after she was robbed by scammers.

She narrated her story to sympathizers and said that she blamed he bank for not investigating promptly and stopping the fraud from happening.

She said she received a BVN message and fell for it and had informed the bank about the problem and was told that they would be investigating the issue.

She found the bank’s answer unsatisfactory and therefore, decided to protest the theft of her money.

There was drama, yesterday, at the #Ecobank branch, Oba-akran, Ikeja, Lagos, as a lady barricaded the door to prevent entry and exit. . . According to reports, she was protesting the bank’s delay in investigating the circumstances surrounding the loss of her money to some fraudsters who sent a fake BVN message to her, last week Thursday, and stole all her money after she fell for it. . . She said she reported to the bank but since then, they told her they were investigating the incident. . . So, yesterday, she used a chair to block the door and insisted that nobody would go out or come in till her money is returned. . . However, she was later made to realize that it wasn’t the bank’s fault and that investigation would continue.

Many of the people around now had to take time out to explain that in such a matter, the bank could not be blamed as all they could do in this situation was to investigate the matter and hopefully a positive result would come out of it.
