A woman in the United States has been arrested after she called the police “silly piggies” on social media.
Hayley Oates, 25, from New Jersey, reportedly distracted the law enforcements agents with a hoax emergency call of a public disturbance so she could escape while driving under the influence of alcohol.
She drove home with a companion who was not identified, after enjoying herself at a bar in Wayne, New Jersey, while the policemen she sent the wrong way were chasing shadows, looking for a woman who was being assaulted as Oates’ message when she called 911 said.
She did get away with her act, but was dumb enough to brag about it on social media, through which the police were able to trace her.
She wrote on social media: “2 mins later the cop peals out … silly piggies tricks r for u.”
After she was arrested, a police statement said: “The Wayne Police Department takes these events extremely seriously … Falsely creating a situation that requires officers to execute emergency response, indicating that an event exists that’s a threat to life or property, is inexcusable and reprehensible behavior,” according to NJ.com.
