Fulham midfielder and Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, has expressed admiration for Nigerian music sensation Wizkid, applauding the singer for his humility and kindness, particularly during the early stages of Iwobi’s career.
In a recent interview with Oma Sports TV, the former Arsenal player reminisced about the first encounters with Wizkid, highlighting the singer’s warm reception despite not initially recognizing him. Iwobi recounted how Wizkid showed him “love” even when the footballer was still navigating the early phases of his career.
Describing Wizkid as a “nice and very humble guy,” Iwobi shared insights into his experience attending Wizkid’s concert at Tottenham stadium earlier this year. He dubbed the event as his “favorite Nigerian show,” expressing genuine enjoyment.
During the interview, Iwobi stated, “The first time I met him, he showed me love when he first met me even though he didn’t know who I was at the time. I’ve seen him in stores and even in the club as well, and he has always showed me so much love. He is someone that I really respect.”
The Super Eagles midfield king went on to praise Wizkid’s humility and noted that despite the singer’s global status, he remains down-to-earth and approachable.
