Nigerian superstar Wizkid has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first African artist to surpass 8 billion streams on Spotify.
The total includes both his lead tracks and features, with his collaboration with Canadian artist Drake on One Danceleading the charts at over 2 billion streams. One Dance also holds the Guinness World Record as the first single to reach 1 billion streams on the platform.
Wizkid’s most streamed album is the deluxe edition of his fourth studio project, Made In Lagos, which has amassed nearly a billion streams.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy follows closely as the second most streamed African artist on Spotify with 7.2 billion streams. Burna Boy also holds the title of the most-followed Afrobeats artiste on the platform.
