Nigerian music sensations Wizkid and Ayra Starr have earned recognition on the global stage, being ranked among the world’s top artists for 2024 by Chart Data. The music monitoring platform unveiled its prestigious list of top artists on New Year’s Eve, with Wizkid securing the 11th spot and Ayra Starr coming in at 18th.
Joining them in the global rankings is South African artist Tyla, who claimed the 12th position. The list’s top 10 is dominated by international music icons, including South Korean singer Jimin and American superstars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar. British artists Charli XCX, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Nicki Minaj round out the top 10.
Further highlighting the prominence of Nigerian artists, Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy were also included in Active Wurld’s “Top 20 Music Global Icons Shaping The Future” list. Davido appeared at number 3, while Wizkid and Burna Boy took the 6th and 8th spots, respectively.
