To the surprise of many, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has emerged winner of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election poll.

The online poll conducted by the national newspaper, Daily Trust drew a response from 17,925 respondents who were asked to respond to the question: “Who is the best candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)?”

The respondents had an option of choosing between Ibrahim Hassan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Bukola Saraki or Sen. Rab’iu Musa Kwankwaso.

While Ibrahim Hassan scored 68 per cent of all votes cast, Atiku and Saraki got 11 per cent each and Kwankwaso got 10 per cent.
