Jaden Smith, son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, continues to challenge gender norms and that’s got people talking about him and his family.
In the latest photos released in Teen Vogue and on his social media accounts, the teen is wearing what many would consider female attire.
Now, according to BET, his father Will Smith has finally issued some answers as to what he thinks of his teenage son’s alleged penchant for wearing lady’s clothes.
Smith reportedly at first joked about Jaden and said that he and his wife may have made a “mistake” in how they raised the now 17-year-old.
Then the actor and one-time rapper got serious.
“You have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail [at],” Smith said. “Jaden is 100 percent fearless, he will do anything. As a parent it’s scary, it’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his artistic decisions and he doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”
Smith said that he and his wife Jada try to give their kids their freedom, but that the rules are a little different for Willow – Jaden’s younger sister, because she’s a girl.
Jaden made the news again over the weekend when it was announced that he had taken delivery of the new Tesla Model X, a $130,000 SUV.
The car is reportedly back on order, with other buyers not scheduled to receive their vehicles until later this year.
