Bekithemba Ncube, a man from Matabo district in Zimbabwe was killed by his wife Feluna Moyo, who stabbed him during an argument over money to buy beer.

The incident occurred around 6pm on Wednesday.

Philisani Ndebele the Matabeleland South police spokesperson inspector verified the incident and said the suspect is in custody and assisting police with the case.

“We are investigating a case of murder where a 20-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband by stabbing him once in the throat. The couple allegedly had a misunderstanding over some domestic issues and during that period Ncube slapped his wife twice prompting her to retaliate. She grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him,” he said.

A villager identified as Dhawu, said Ncube had been drinking beer at Sun Yet Sen business centre and had only returned home to collect more money for beer, when the incident happened.

The couple was in a heated argument over the money for beer and Ncube out of anger slapped his wife causing her to retaliate which led to his death.

He said other family members phoned the police while Moyo sat quietly in the corner in their bedroom.

Police arrived the scene and arrested her.

The body was ferried to Maphisa District hospital mortuary where it awaits post-mortem.
