Wife Of LASTMA Official Killed By FSARS Finally Speaks

2 Min Read
Late Rotimi Adeyemo

Mrs Eniola Adeyemo, the wife of Rotimi Adeyemo, a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official killed during the week, has finally spoken.

Adeyemo was shot in the eye and killed by an operative of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Inspector Olukunle Olonade, in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos on Wednesday.

Olonade reportedly shot Adeyemo for cautioning him over a traffic violation.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner has since ordered an orderly room trial for Olonade, who also died after a mob beat him to stupor for shooting Adeyemo.

But speaking from the family’s residence in the Ayobo-Ipaja area of the state, Mrs Adeyemo said her late husband had great plans for their children before his unexpected demise.

She said they had just made plans for yuletide and the education of their three children, including twin one-year-olds, when tragedy struck.

Mrs Adeyemo also revealed that her late husband also told her he wanted to strive to become the most celebrated LASTMA official.

She said, “On Wednesday morning, we had a lengthy chat on our plans for the children and yuletide.

“He assured me that all the plans would be fulfilled. And that soon, with his diligence at work, fortunes would smile on him and he would become the most celebrated LASTMA officer.

“But I never knew that was our last conversation. This is because we chatted a lot and he had become my confidant. But his death has truncated all that now. All I want is adequate care for the children because he never joked with them.”
