Why You Shouldn’t Ignore Adeboye’s New Sexually Transmitted Disease Prophecy

2 Min Read

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has predicted that a new sexually transmitted disease will emerge in 2016.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that you can get from having sex with someone who has the infection. The causes of STDs are bacteria, parasites and viruses.

Bacterial Vaginosis, Gonorrhea, Genital herpes, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Syphilis are different examples of STDs.

You can get an STD by having sex (vaginal, anal or oral) with someone who has an STD. Anyone who is sexually active can get an STD, even skin to skin contact can give you STD.

Young People are particularly at risk of STDs because of several reasons that include young women’s bodies are biologically more susceptible to STDs, some young people do not get the recommended STD tests, many young people are hesitant to talk openly and honestly with a doctor or nurse about their sex lives and some young people have more than one sex partner.

Abstinence is usually the surest way to protect yourself against STDs but if you decide to have sex, you and your partner should get tested before hand and make sure that you and your partner use a condom—every time you have oral, anal, or vaginal sex, from start to finish.

The only way to certainly know you have an STD is to get tested because some curable STDs can be dangerous if left untreated.
