The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Jimoh Moshood has said that the killing of seven policemen in Abuja on Tuesday has justified why the nation cannot afford to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
SARS officers have come under fire in recent times over accusations of harassment, intimidation and extortion, especially of young Nigerian men who are tagged internet fraudsters.
But reacting to the killings on Tuesday in Abuja, Moshood said police authorities would do everything possible to ensure the killers are identified and diligently prosecuted.
“The killing of the policemen goes a long way to prove that the call for the disbandment of the SARS is not justified,” he said.
