Fani-Kayode was rearrested on a fresh charge for corruption by the EFCC on the 21st of October, 2016.
The ex-aviation minister was arrested for allegedly collecting money from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) before the 2015 presidential elections.
Fani-Kayode, who served as a Director of Publicity during the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was previously arrested on a 17-count charge bordering on unlawful retention, use and payment of money to the tune of N4.9billion.
The EFCC had said that he collected the sum of N26million for an undisclosed purpose and he needs to answer to why he took the money.
It is also stated that from the records of the the EFCC, there was enough evidence to implicate Fani-Kayode for receiving the cash directly from the NSA.
The EFCC will be moving him to Abuja to answer questions arising from the new evidence as different amounts were traced to his account.
