Arsenal Midfielder Alex Iwobi has put Arsenal’s defeat to Southampton down to a lack of concentration from the away team.
The defeat is the first the Gunners have suffered in 22 games as their last defeat was back in August against Chelsea.
They have since then breezed through their Europa League group, drawn against league leaders Liverpool and won a pulsating North London derby against Tottenham.
Iwobi spoke after the game and highlighted the importance of picking themselves up.
“I guess we weren’t concentrating throughout the 90 minutes. We had spells where we weren’t defending well as a group,”

“It’s something we have to dust ourselves down from and keep on going. We can’t let our heads drop from this defeat, we just have to push on to the next match.”
“Of course, they (Southampton) deserve some credit. They had a game plan and they stuck to it and did well against us,”
“But it’s disappointing from us and we have to keep going again.”
Iwobi also bemoaned the loss as it brought what had been a thrilling unbeaten run to an end
“Frustration that it’s over. We had a lot of chances to win this game, I believe,” he added.
“But we have to give ourselves a bit of credit that we were able to go on this unbeaten run and now we have to start over again.”
