Former Super Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu, is not happy with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the delay in formalising his appointment as the Technical Director of the football house.
Amodu told newsmen that the appointment which was announced over a year ago was just on paper and not formalised.
“It is unfortunate that these merely made pronouncement is without any letter to this effect” he said
“As I am talking, I have not officially taken over as Technical Director” he added.
He disclosed that he had been bankrolling his bills since he moved to Abuja.
But competent source in federation said that the deal is being footdragged because of the return of the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi who does not Amodu to supervise him.
Keshi and Amodu hardly see face to face since the latter signed a new contract with Nigeria Football Federation as result of Amodu’s comment when the Federation delayed the renewal of Keshi’s contract.
Until Amodu’s deal as Technical Director is formalised, he may not have the powers to oversee Keshi’s work.
Keshi it would be recalled was assistant to Amodu when they both qualified Nigeria for the World Cup in 2002 before they were forcibly eased out as a result of the internal politicking of the game.
