Why Lai Mohammed Was Booed At NBA Conference – Fani-Kayode

2 Min Read

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has disclosed why Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was allegedly booed out of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Conference in Abuja.

Themed “Transition, Transformation and Sustainable Institutions”, the 58th NBA Annual General Conference commenced in Abuja on Sunday.

But according to a Wednesday morning tweet on his verified Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode said that the minister was booed out of the conference for working for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Elombah News had on Tuesday reported how fellow lawyers “shooed and booed” Mohammed, who was due to address the gathering, and initially refused to have him deliver his address.

However, the gathering presided over by a former NBA President, Chief Olisa Agbakoba, was able to prevail on the lawyers to allow their learned colleague deliver his address.

But all hell reportedly broke loose as the lawyers resumed the shooing and booing as Mohammed started his delivery.

This reportedly lasted until the end of the minister’s address.

Reacting to the incident, Fani-Kayode, who is also a lawyer, said, “Lai Mohammed was booed out of the NBA Conference yesterday. The truth is that he deserved even worse. He is lucky that he was not stoned. He chose to serve tyranny and has therefore lost the right to be honored by his colleagues at the Bar or be counted in the ranks of the learned.”
