Elite owner of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy, has disclosed to the internet world why he didn’t sign Wizkid and Davido to his then Mo’Hits record during their early days.
Speaking on his inability to sign Wizkid, he stated that he couldn’t because Banky W, a fellow music executive, had already signed him to EME.
Don Jazzy talked on Davido also, revealing his assurance on how he knew the artist would succeed without a record label.
In a single breath he said “I had the opportunity to sign Davido, but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine. Wizkid, obviously, I couldn’t because Banky W got to him first. That would have been amazing,”
The music executive also spoke on the would-have-beens with other artists, saying “I like Simi; I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni, but I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. Falz, I love his work. We almost had a deal,”
