Where Our Leader Got It Wrong – By Femi Fani-Kayode

5 Min Read
Olu Falae

Amotekun is the arrival of Yoruba freedom. It is a good initiative and has nothing to do with politics but with the safety of life and property. It cannot lead to secession. Yoruba cannot secede from Nigeria because our fathers have invested so much in the country”- Chief Olu Falae.

I love, respect and admire Chief Olu Falae and I agree with him on all he has said here EXCEPT for the last sentence.

I believe that the mistake that our fathers and forefathers made was to continually invest in an artificial entity and superficial geographical expression called Nigeria that rewarded their excellence, diligence, virtues, loyalty and love with nothing but betrayal, torment, wickedness, doublespeak, subterfuge and evil.

Consider the following.

In the name of unity Samuel Ladoke Akintola was killed. In the name of unity Francis Adekunle Fajuyi was killed. In the name of unity Obafemi Awolowo was jailed. In the name of unity Victor Banjo was killed. In the name of unity Ibrahim Taiwo was killed. In the name of unity Moshood Kashimawo Abiola was killed.

In the name of unity Olusegun Obasanjo was jailed. In the name of unity Olu Omotehinwa was killed. In the name of unity Tunde Elegbede was killed. In the name of unity Suliat Adedeji was killed. In the name of unity Tunde Idiagbon was killed. In the name of unity Bola Ige was killed. In the name of unity Toyin Olakurin was killed. The list goes on and on and there are thousands more.

More than anyone else the sons and daughters of Oduduwa put their love and trust in and sacrificed for Nigeria but more than anyone else their good has been rewarded with evil. It is only a matter of time before Nigeria does to us what she did to the courageous Igbo and to the gallant Biafrans between 1967 and 1970.

That is why our forests have been flooded and filled with well-armed Dervish militias, well-funded alien armies, well-protected foreign hordes and endless streams of violent terrorists and dangerous barbarians who hail from a distant land, who murder, maim and kidnap at will, who burn our homes and farms, who ravish and rape our women and who steal our land.

The hidden hand that operates in the shadows and that deployed these barbarians are simply testing the waters and setting us up for the “big kill” and what can be best described as the “final solution”.

We must not wait till it begins before we consider exercising our God-given and inalienable right of self-determination and leave this iniquitious, perfidious, pernicious, godless, inequitable, blood-lusting and blood-stained union whilst we still have the strength, courage, fortitude and prescence of mind to do so.

If Nigeria does not treat us with respect and dignity, if she refuses to regard us as human beings, if she cannot guarantee the safety of our people and if she does not give us our due then we MUST and we SHALL get up, march out and leave her.

And once we resolve to do so no force in hell or on earth and no man born of woman can stop us. The sons and daughters of Oduduwa were not born to be serfs or second class citizens and we shall NEVER be slaves.

We will not sacrifice our freedom, self-respect, self-esteem, safety, security and liberty on the alter of one Nigeria.

Anyone that thinks otherwise has made a grave error of judgement and a fatal mistake.

If needs be we can afford to forfeit our investments, establish our own nation and start all over again.
