The long-awaited WhatsApp Dark mode is nearly here and Facebook has scrapped initial plans to show adverts in your conversations.
WABetaInfo which specializes in tearing down beta versions of the app to reveal hidden features in its code has discovered several assets in the latest update that suggests just how close the company is to complete the dark side feature.
Previous knowledge suggests that WhatsApp is bringing two dark versions to its users and it’s working on icons specifically meant to display on black and grey backgrounds. Some beta testers already gave us a feel of what’s to come.
If you would like to see the dark theme temporarily and legitimately, you should use this "dark theme bug" (WhatsApp for Android).

No major discoveries were made this time mostly subtle changes suggesting the developers are merely finalizing and fine-tuning things. Alerts in the app showing useful security information will appear in yellow text in dark grey bubbles.
No Ads, thank God!
In more news, Facebook has finally scrapped plans to show ads in your conversations according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The reports state that the company has disbanded a team that was tasked with bringing ads into WhatsApp conversations.
Facebook will still show ads in WhatsApp status but plans to clutter group chats with ads have for now been shelved.
We can also look forward to the app being used as a miniature storefront for businesses to display stocks and orders made directly in-app. But for now, let’s hope dark mode is next.
