The reported kidnapping of 94 girls from Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, has continued to generate controversy among Nigerians.
Reacting to Monday night’s attack on the school, the senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani said that it had thrown up some revelations for Nigerians.
Boko Haram invaded the school on Monday night and reportedly took some of the female students of the school hostage, with many of them scampering into nearby bushes and houses for safety.
The Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam confirmed the abduction in a Wednesday night statement through the Director of Press of the Government House, Abdullahi Bego.
According to Reuters, a military operation led to the rescue of 76 of the girls while two of them died during the operation.
Speaking via his Twitter handle on Friday morning, Sani said, “In Dapchi there were two revelations; the abducted girls were not completely rescued and the insurgents were not completely defeated.”
