The Miyetti Allah Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has appealed to the Ondo State Government to provide ranches for its members as they were tired of open grazing.
Speaking in Akure on Wednesday, Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Bello Garba stated that the provision of ranches would bring an end to the constant clashes between farmers and herdsmen.
Garba spoke at the public hearing on a bill to regulate rearing and grazing of livestock and provide for the establishment of ranches and other related matters.
He said that the association was not happy about the clashes and would support any lawful means to bring it to an end.
Garba explained that it was necessary for farmers and herdsmen to live and conduct their businesses in peace and harmony.
