Arsenal manager Arsenal Wenger has pointed accusing fingers at the Wales national team for the injury suffered by Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.
The criticism is coming after Ramsey was substituted after picking up a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out of action for a month in the club’s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in a UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.
Wenger believes the Welsh team ought not to have used Ramsey and Bale in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Andorra since they had already qualified for the tournament before the game. He accused the Welsh team of deliberately exposing the players unnecessarily to injury.
Bale is out of action with a calf injury as he could not feature in his team’s 0-0 draw against French side Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday.
“[Ramsey] had a scan [on Friday], but he’s out,” the Arsenal boss confirmed to the club’s official website. “I believe he will be out until after the next international break [November 13]. With the last international break, the fact he played against Andorra certainly cost him and Bale as well.”
Ramsey is expected to miss the team’s English Premier League match against Everton at the weekend.
