The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says it remained committed to promoting peace in the South-East geopolitical zone.
South-East Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki stated this on Thursday in Awka, the Anambra State capital in his Eid-el Maulud message.
He said that the herder group’s members would continue to live in peace with their hosts.
“Under my watch in the South-East, Miyetti Allah will continue to promote the peace among the herders and their host communities.
“We remain fully committed to delivering on our promise of peace and unity in this area of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states,” Siddiki said.
Siddiki, who has been living in the South-East since 1986, is a known advocate of peaceful co-existence in the region.

In a recent interview, he hailed Ndigbo’s hospitable spirit.
“My experience with the Igbo people has been good; they are peace-loving.
“They accommodate strangers more than the locals and they are hard-working. Anytime there is anything to discuss, they involve us,” he said.
