A groom, Vishal Kumar Sonu, 42, who had been separated from his first wife for 14 years was shocked when the woman showed up at his wedding to cause a scene.
According to report, the woman showed up at the wedding ceremony to oppose the union stating that she was still legally married to the groom and he was not allowed to marry the bride who is 18 years younger.
The first wife who bore the groom a 13 year old son arrived at the traditional wedding with her family to demand the cancellation of the event.
The groom was reported to have engaged in an argument with the first wife whom he claimed to have divorced, the argument was reported to have later degenerated into a fist cuff in which the estranged first wife and her family assaulted the groom.
The estranged first wife identified as Rakhi was according to her brother, Pawan Kumar legally married for 14 years to the groom and during the union produced the teenage son before their marriage hit the rocks.
Rakhi’s brother added: “We took Rakhi back to our home and set a condition before Sonu that they will send her back only after he will start earning. Sonu agreed to this and used to visit Rakhi often. We never expected that he will solemnise a second marriage. We came to know about his marriage two days ago, when someone showed us the wedding invitation.”
The groom, Sonu, however in his testimony disclosed that he was married for seven years to the woman and ater divre her. He added that he has documents to prove the divorce.
