We Will Grow Rivers Economy – Wike

Rivers State Governor-elect, Chief Nyesom Wike has assured the people of Rivers state that he will not betray their trust and he promised to make strategic investments that will grow the economy of the State.

While addressing the seventh Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Niger Delta North in Port Harcourt yesterday, Wike said he will be sworn in on May 29th in line with the Nigerian Constitution.

He said “I will not betray the trust of the people of Rivers State. I will serve the state and her people with the fear of God.

“Out of the present ashes of despair and hopelessness, we shall recreate a new Rivers State for the good of all that live in it.”

He told the Anglican-Synod that he will make judicious use of Rivers State resources and avoid the mistakes of past administrations.

Wike said “We will make strategic investments to grow our economy. We will support hardworking Rivers people to own businesses. I believe that the new administration under my watch will fulfil its purpose.”

Archbishop of Anglican Church, Diocese of Niger Delta North, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey also advised the governor-elect to work towards fulfilling all his campaign promises.
