Europe-bound migrants deported back to Nigeria have recounted the harrowing ordeal they encountered during their journey.
A survivor, speaking to Emmanuel TV, recounted her experience, describing the torture and challenges they went through during their journey.
The lady, Mrs. Tracy Stephen, a 23 year-old from Edo state, said they were abused, starved and once had to drink water from a well that had a corpse in it so as to overcome dehydration.
Tracy, who says she is lucky to be alive, also explained that they were unable to get to Italy because the over filled rubber dinghy they boarded ran out of fuel, there were no life jackets and most of them could not swim.
Among the people on board were children and newborn babies.
They were later rescued by the Libyan Coast Guard and thrown into prison where they were locked up for three months before being repartraited back to Nigeria through the intervention of the International Organization for Migrants.
This year alone about 3,600 Europe-bound migrants have died, while some were lucky to arrive their destination alive.
Some of them had made their journeys through the Sahara desert, Libya and the dangerous Mediterranean sea.
