The Peoples Democratic Party has commended the emergence of Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as the chairman of the governor’s forum saying the party has overcome the setback of the loss it suffered during the 2015 elections.
The PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, in Abuja said Mimiko is fully equipped to act as chairman of the governor’s forum.
Metuh commended all the PDP governors for their commitment towards re-engineering and re-positioning the party towards 2019.
Metuh said the party “has since overcome the setback of the last general elections and the PDP spirit is still alive and stronger, now more than ever before, in the minds of most Nigerians and families in all the nooks and crannies of the country.”
He described PDP as “the only true national platform committed to the national interest, where all citizens as equal partners are free to hold opinion and aspire to any position, no matter how high, without regard to creed, class or ethnic considerations and in which no individual or group of individuals can claim ownership or attempt to appropriate control.”
He charged all members across states, wards to redouble their efforts towards the success of the party.
