England captain, Wayne Rooney has disclosed that one of his sons has asked for an England jersey with the name of Leicester City and England star forward, Jamie Vardy on the back.

Jamie Vardy has impressed with Leicester City this season, firing them to the top of the English Premier League and also netted for England against Germany and the Netherlands.

Before game against the Netherlands on Tuesday, Rooney praised the contribution of the 28-year-old Vardy, underscoring it with the revelation that one of his sons, probably the eldest born in 2009, wants a Three Lions jersey with Vardy embossed on the back.

Rooney has three sons Kai Wayne (born 2009), Klay Anthony (born 2013) and Kit Joseph (2016).

He said: “One of lads asked me today for an England kit with Vardy on the back.

“The impact he has had in the Premier League and now for England is great for English football and hopefully he can continue that for England.”

He also expressed delight at the opportunity to captain England at Euro 2016, adding that he believed the team would do well at the tournament.
